I’m excited to see what year 5 Jabari Smith Jr. brings to the table this year...

What I would like to see from him:

- Defensive improvements
- 3PT%/Volume

Defensively he’s already a good defender by metrics. But he can/should be elite… Has the frame/versatility for it. He mentioned he’s shooting for an all defensive team. I love that. Let’s see it.

3PT%/Volume:
Bari shot under 40% on wide open threes last season. Unacceptable considering he was drafted to make threes.

I know he’s a better shooter than that…
Make defenses pay if they’re going to disrespect you.

Goal should be 8.0 3PA/g on at least 38% overall from deep.

Saying all of this to say, I hold Jabari Smith Jr. to a high standard because he’s capable of being better, and he was the third pick in the draft. I want to note he did improve in some areas last season which was promising.

But again, a Jabari Smith Jr. leap can do a lot for this team… I don’t want him to just be “good”, he’s already there and he wasn’t drafted to be that.

He can be so much more. I have faith in him.
