火箭一年合同续签老将前锋杰肖恩·泰特
Rockets re-sign veteran forward to one-year contract
The Houston Rockets re-signed veteran forward Jae’Sean Tate to a one-year contract, the team announced Thursday. Tate originally joined Houston as an undrafted free agent on Nov. 25, 2020, and is now entering his seventh season with the franchise.
The 30-year-old forward reportedly agreed to a partially guaranteed, veteran minimum deal. The contract is worth $3,066,143, with a $1.04 million partial guarantee, while the Rockets cap hit on the agreement is $2,449,421.
Tate appeared in 46 games for Houston last season, averaging 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per 36 minutes. He recorded a career-best 51.4% shooting percentage from the field and committed only 16 turnovers across 405 minutes of action. His per-game averages were 2.8 points and 1.6 rebounds while playing 8.8 minutes per contest.
Since joining the Rockets in 2020, Tate has become the longest-tenured player on the team’s roster. He has played 342 regular-season games and five playoff games with the franchise. His 342 appearances are the third-most by an undrafted player in franchise history, behind only Matt Bullard with 538 games and Chuck Hayes with 426 games.
Tate is also among a small group of players to spend at least seven seasons with Houston. Only 15 players in the team’s history have reached that mark, including current center Clint Capela.
After finishing his college career at Ohio State in 2017-18, Tate played professionally overseas in Belgium and Australia before making his NBA debut during the 2020-21 season. That year, he became the first Rockets player since Luis Scola in 2007-08 to earn All-Rookie First Team honors.
Following the re-signing of former Sacramento Kings forward Isaiah Crawford and Tate, Houston now has 15 players on standard contracts and sits $2.57 million above the luxury tax line. The Rockets could move back below that threshold by waiving JD Davison, who has a non-guaranteed $2.58 million contract.
